The Potting Shed began as a place to plant seedlings to grow on for market, when the Bowers family were market gardeners. Unused for a number of years, Bowrundel Lifestyle looked into converting the building into a holiday cottage to make use of it, as the alternative was it being knocked down and removed. It is now an extremely exciting addition to our glamping tents in The Paddock.

During the design phase of the renovation, our aim was to ensure The Potting Shed was as in-keeping with its original look as possible, along with an element of modernisation to bring the luxury. The charred larch “Crushed Berry” cladding is just an upgraded version of what was there originally.

The two bedrooms accommodate four people, with our master suite comprising of a king-sized bed, a walk-in shower in the en-suite and beautiful views over the back garden towards Bredon hill. The second (twin) bedroom is perfect for children or adults- spacious and comfortable with modern furnishings.

Bi-folding doors and high windows allow for beautiful views from the open-plan living and dining areas. The 50-inch smart TV is set up for all your modern needs, but feel free to keep it switched off if you’re staying with us to get away from it all! Choose to eat at the breakfast bar or the dining table, both spaces are comfortable with tall bar stools or traditional dining chairs. Even if you’re the one left to do the cooking while you stay with us, you won’t find it a chore in our fabulous navy, gold and white marble design kitchen. A double oven and built-in microwave, kettle, toaster and integrated fridge freezer mean that you’ll still be able to make your favourite meals!

Attention to detail has been at the forefront of our mind, with carefully chosen lighting inside and out, as well as nature-themed art-work and plush furnishings inside. All rooms have underfloor heating, wi-fi and superfast full fibre broadband with hardwired CAT6 cables. We know laundry and dishes will probably be the last thing on your mind, but we have a washing machine with clothes airer and iron as well as a dishwasher to make any essential cleaning that little bit easier for you!

When designing the heating system for The Potting Shed, we considered how our choices would impact on the environment. Aiming to keep our carbon footprint to a minimum, we opted for an air source heat pump which can run at over 300% efficiency. Coupling this with the underfloor heating and high levels of insulation, we are able to maintain a sustainable and comfortable climate indoors.

Our outdoor areas are blessed with some gorgeous views. Sit around the fire pit and toast some marshmallows or enjoy dinner al fresco on our spacious patio areas. Morning coffee could be enjoyed in the courtyard area with views of the neighbouring fields. Not only would you have exclusive use of The Potting Shed gardens, but you are welcome to enjoy the larger space in The Paddock just down the track. The children’s play area is situated here as well as our nature trail, and enough open space to play ball games.
