About Bowrundel Lifestyle

We are a husband and wife team who have three young daughters and two lively working Cocker Spaniels at home to keep us on our toes! The land has been in the family for three generations, predominantly used for market gardening in the agriculture sector. More recently, we have been excited to diversify the way in which we use some of the land, hoping to encourage more wildlife and somewhere for guests to come and enjoy the outdoors. Offering a variety of countryside retreats in The Paddock, ranging from a wilder experience in our bell tents to the more luxurious safari tents, alongside plans for converting our Potting Shed into a charming holiday cottage, we enjoy catering to your personal preferences.

The Local Area

Based on the border of Gloucestershire and Worcestershire, we’re lucky to have an abundance of glorious places to visit, right on our doorstep.

If you fancy venturing a little further from The Paddock or The Potting Shed, the medieval town of Tewkesbury is just down the road. Stroll around the grounds of Tewkesbury’s famous Abbey or see where the Rivers Avon and Severn meet. You could stay closer to us by visiting the spa, golf club or fishing lakes in our neighbouring village of Twyning.

If you enjoy walking and stumbling across breath-taking picnic spots, then a visit to the Malvern hills is a must, passing through the riverside town of Upton (home of the famous Blues festival) on route.

With links to the M5 and M50 motorways just outside of the village, larger towns and cities such as Cheltenham, Gloucester and Worcester are easily accessible too (perfect for those shopaholics among you!).

We are fortunate to have lots of local attractions nearby, which are detailed in our welcome pack (waiting for you upon arrival), but feel free to do your own research before you get to us!

FAQs

Our earliest check-in time is 3pm, and we ask that you let us know an approximate time of arrival, so we know when to expect you. We ask that you vacate your accommodation by 10:30am on the day of your departure.

Usually, one of our Bowrundel team will be there to greet you on arrival. However, depending on what time you choose to check in, there may be occasions where we will let you know clear instructions on how to access your accommodation.

During peak season (April-September, plus all local school holiday dates), we operate on a minimum two-night stay. Out of season (excluding school holidays), we welcome one-night stays.

Absolutely- we welcome two well behaved dogs per tent, at a small cost of £5 per dog per night. We ask that you keep them on the lead during your stay with us, to respect our other guests as well as the wildlife around us. Dog waste bins are dotted around the site- please pick up after your dog responsibly.

We do not allow vehicles in The Paddock (except for emergency vehicles). A designated parking area is provided with the furthest tent being approximately a 60-metre stroll. If assistance with luggage is required, we would be happy to help so please let us know in advance of your stay.

Although The Paddock consists of fairly flat grassland, there are no solid paths around the facilities. We have ramped access to the shower block with a larger shower room, suitable for wheelchair users, however the shower tray is not level-access as there is a small step into it. Please be aware there are steps leading into all tents.

We will do our utmost to accommodate any guest with disabilities, please discuss with us if you have particular requirements.

We are excited about bringing you the opportunity to have the use of a hot tub during your stay in the future, but currently do not have them.

Unfortunately, we cannot allow day guests in The Paddock. We suggest you use the local area and attractions to arrange meet-ups with family and friends.

We are happy to offer group or full-site bookings, to enable multiple families to enjoy time together (subject to availability).

However, we do not offer bookings for hen and stag parties, as we are a family orientated site.

We can provide these for your little ones at your request, subject to availability.

Not in The Paddock- we hope that you enjoy being outdoors and getting back to nature without the distraction of technology and the world wide web! If you do require access on site though, generally 4G signal is pretty good.

You will find our holiday cottage, The Potting Shed, has superfast wi-fi. All log in details will be given in the arrival information sent prior to your stay.
